Crafting an eighth installment after coming back from the success of Furious 7, which was the most critically and commercially successful entry in the franchise, was always going to be a tough task to pull off. Although Vin Diesel’s The Fate of the Furious didn’t do as good numbers as its predecessor, the 8th installment did become the 2nd highest-grossing film in the franchise.

However, some of the major points from the film weren’t the movie itself but the feud that grew between Diesel and The Rock, which would lead to the latter’s exit. But this wasn’t the only talking point about the movie as Diesel’s kiss with Charlize Theron from the movie also garnered a lot of heat, with both actors sharing different viewpoints on the kiss.

Charlize Theron brushed off Vin Diesel’s claims of her enjoying their kiss in The Fate of the Furious

Following their kiss in the movie, where Charlize Theron’s character Cipher forces Diesel’s Dom to kiss on her lips, the actress recollected a very different scenario of the situation in comparison to her costar. Although Vin Diesel claimed that she enjoyed the kiss while stating, “Do I know she enjoyed it? Oh, my God, yeah. A kiss cannot lie, lips don’t lie. No, they didn’t. She owned it”, but it wasn’t exactly the case.

Charlize Theron later opened up about the whole thing and joked about the whole scenario of Diesel claiming that it was a great kiss, but to the contrary, she did not enjoy the kiss. The actress explained the situation by stating,

“I just don’t get it. I’m the crazy chick that’s doing this horrible thing to him and, as he should’ve, his character is just standing there frozen, like a dead fish. I like a bit more movement in my men.”

Charlize Theron commended Vin Diesel for his accomplishments with Fast and Furious

After working alongside Vin Diesel in the 8th installment of the franchise, Charlize Theron reprised her role in F9 and is set to return in the upcoming Fast X. However, this might not be the last time we witness the Mad Max star alongside Vin Diesel, as she showcased her interest in returning to the franchise if asked in the future. She also commended the Bloodshot actor for his accomplishments with this franchise and stated,

“Listen, as a producer, I take my hat off [to Diesel]. That f***ing guy built something with Universal that very few people will ever build in their entire life. You don’t drag an audience with you for that long. Whatever you think of those movies, you have to be an idiot not to be like, ‘That’s a f***ing accomplishment.'”
