“I just find him fascinating”: Peaky Blinders Star Wants The Flash Lead Ezra Miller in Cillian Murphy’s Breakout Franchise After Tom Holland’s Failed Audition

Peaky Blinders has been one of the fan-favorite shows featuring an incredibly star-studded cast that continues to level up the thrill the series brings. It has brought many into stardom, especially lead star, Cillian Murphy who portrayed Tommy Shelby. Given that the sixth season has concluded the show, the franchise is still going strong.

With the future of the franchise being quite anticipated among the fandom, there were many names associated with the sixth season including Tom Holland. Given that the MCU star was in for the show, one of the stars from the show wants The Flash star, Ezra Miller in the popular franchise.

Harry Kirton rose to prominence by playing the role of Finn Shelby in the popular show, Peaky Blinders. It is well known that the popular series has garnered international attention which is why many A-listers were associated with the project. From Brad Pitt to Tom Holland, many names came forward but the former has eyes set on a specific someone to see in the near future of the British franchise.

In a last year’s interview with Digital Spy, Kirton expressed his interest to see The Flash star, Ezra Miller in the future of the franchise.

“Ezra Miller, I just find him fascinating.”

He continued,

“I’m not sure if they’d necessarily fit, but actors that I’d perhaps love to work with, or would find it interesting to see what they would do, like Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Pattinson.”

Given that the sixth series has already come to an end, there is still scope for Miller to be in the Peaky Blinders saga since a feature-length movie in place of a seventh installment is currently in development. While the show star has already approved of Miller being in the future, Holland was unable to bag a part in it.

In a video for LadBible, the Spider-Man: Homecoming star admitted that he had auditioned for the show but was unable to secure a spot there. He shared, 

“Actually auditioned for Peaky Blinders, and I did not get that part.”

Addressing his audition, Kirton expressed his opinion stating,

“If Tom Holland was to be on it, I would imagine he probably went up for the role of Michael [Gray]. They kind of look similar, him and Finn Cole.”

He continued,

“Him being, obviously, a hugely successful actor and a solid actor at that, he must have gone up for a main role. I don’t know how long ago he went to audition. It could have been a recent thing, so he could have come on as a villain or something.”

While he didn’t reveal when he went for an audition, show creator, Steven Knight at a red carpet premiere of the last season of the show was open to having him in the film only if he desires to return. It would be quite a show to see Holland in the upcoming film but the chances look quite slim since he has announced to take a year-long break from acting after filming The Crowded Room. Meanwhile, the new film will be released not until 2024 at the earliest.
