Avatar: The Last Airbender, in a span of 61 episodes, has introduced an array of characters who have created an image within the minds of fans. While most of these characters are loved by Avatar fans, there are some who have a negative impact on the series and the fans, making them hate such characters.
These characters are generally annoying and are more focused on the antagonistic aspects of the story. In a Reddit post, fans were asked about which characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender were, in their opinion, the most hated. While fans came up with a big list of characters, five of these characters featured the most on the list.
5. Jet
When Jet was initially introduced in the story, fans developed a sense of sympathy for him because his parents were killed by the fire kingdom. It was revealed in the story that he decided to take revenge against the nation, and he even formed a small group of freedom fighters with whom he trained and lived near the Gaipan village.

Jet’s personality took a huge turn in the eyes of Avatar fans when the real extent of his hatred was portrayed in the story.
Jet believed that the entire fire nation was responsible for all the bad things, and he didn’t even care for the innocent people in the village. This led to fans developing hatred for the character.
4. Admiral Zhao
Admiral Zhao is one such character that fans have hated from the beginning. He was the main antagonist in the first season because of his attack on the Northern Water Tribe. Zhao was cruel and arrogant, and he was hellbent on catching Aang so that he could earn the respect of Fire Lord Ozai and become famous all over the world.

And to attain this, he went to extreme lengths. He even tried to kill Prince Zuko. But the thing that Avatar fans hated the most about Zhao was that he killed the Moon Spirit at the Spirit Oasis.
He knew the consequences of killing a spirit, but even then, his arrogance knew no bounds and made him one of the most hated characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
3. Circus Trainer
Appa is one of the most loved creatures shown in Avatar: The Last Airbender. However, he was kidnapped by sand benders and sold to the Fire Nation Circus, which is where fans first came across the Circus Trainer. The circus trainer had a reputation for controlling exotic animals and preparing them for the circus using cruel methods.

When he got hold of Appa, the Circus Trainer decided to starve him and use violence against him to train him. Although the Circus Trainer was already a hated character, his act of torturing Appa took the hatred of Avatar fans to another level.
2. Fire Lord Ozai
Fire Lord Ozai was the ruler of the Fire Nation and the main antagonist of the series. Ozai planned to become the Phoenix King and rule over the entire world. He was one of the most feared characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and being the main villain, fans developed a lot of hate for him.

While some fans hated him for his cruelty toward other nations, others hated him for the way he treated his own son, Zuko.
Some fans also believed that Ozai was not the best antagonist of the series, as during the final battle, he was not able to prove his worth as the main antagonist.
1. Long Feng
Long Feng might be the most popular character in the Earth Kingdom. Being the Grand Secretariat of Ba Sing Se, the leader of the Dai Li, he used his authority to control every aspect of the capital of the Earth Kingdom. His cravings for more power made him not only kidnap Appa but even use it to his advantage.
