Keanu Reeves has done some of the most iconic roles and movies. From playing John Wick to Neo and so many other roles that he brought to life, the actor became an absolute fan favorite. He has worked hard on bringing some of the best movies to the big screen and his reputation and fame only grow positively.
Despite so much, certain projects may run short or find some reason to not continue. After the fourth John Wick movie, the actor is said to be reprising his role in Ana De Armas’s Ballerina. With no potential return of the character after that, things looked quite grim for Reeves. However, a new update has just arrived for one of his most awaited movies, giving hope to not only the actor but also his fans.
Keanu Reeves Constantine 2’s Script Is Yet To Be Penned Down
One movie Keanu Reeves dedicatedly wanted to bring back was his Constantine. After so much hard work, faith, and grinding, the actor finally managed to greenlight the movie. However, the timing was not the best. Not only did James Gunn and Peter Safran take over the co-CEOs of the DC Universe, but the Writers’ Strike also started.
“My pens are down, so there’s nothing to do. But, yeah, those are the next things I’m writing when I’m allowed to write again. And I had already begun [I Am] Legend 2 when we started striking, and Frances [Lawrence], Keanu [Reeves], and I have broken Constantine 2. I just haven’t started typing yet.”
The latest update of the movie by Akiva Goldsman states that although there is a script ready in his mind, it is yet to be penned down. The Writers’ Strike of the Writers Guild of America has kept him from writing the script.
Akiva Goldsman Has A Lot Of Sequels Pending
There is a list of sequels that Akiva Goldsman is working on including Will Smith’s I Am Legend 2 and Keanu Reeves’ Constantine 2. There was a great amount of fear amongst the fans after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DCU. After various movies were canceled and actors were replaced, there was little to no hope for Reeves’ film to continue.
That does not seem to have affected the film at all. In fact, even with the Wrtiers’ Strike in full swing, there seems to be no issue for the movie except for a delay until the strike ultimately ends. He cannot participate in writing any of those scripts as long as the strike is heavily active.
