Back in 2008, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio got reunited after their Titanic hit and delivered outstanding performances working in Revolutionary Road. While it was quite a deja vu for fans to see the duo again on-screen, the former didn’t feel much comfortable especially when she had to film s*x scenes with her on-screen partner.

Speaking with The Telegraph at the same, she explained that her awkwardness happened as the film director, Sam Mendes was the one she was married to at the time. Filming intimate scenes in front of her husband made her quite weird.

“I just kept saying, ‘This is too… weird.'”

She told the outlet,

“And Leo was like, ‘Oh, get over it.’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah, a little reminder: You’re my best friend. He’s my husband. This is a bit weird.'”

She eventually filmed her love scene with DiCaprio. Her remarkable performance in the film was widely acclaimed by critics. She was married to the filmmaker from 2003-2010. The duo shares a son, Joe Mendes.

After working in the epic film together, the duo shares an impeccable bond and has adored their friendship for several years. Despite playing the iconic lovers on-screen, Winslet has already admitted at the 2016 Oscars that the Inception star is “closest friend in the world.

She has been candid about showing affection for him.

“I feel so grateful for that friendship and it is like family. It’s one of those rare Hollywood friendships that I feel very blessed to have.”

While many wanted the on-screen couple to get real, Winslet has admitted that their relationship is “a real brother sister thing.”

They have expressed that they don’t want to involve in a romantic relationship and continue to support each other as real friends.
