Margot Robbie is a remarkably incredible actress. A two times Oscar nominee, the star is best known for roleplaying the bubbly, energetic, and maniacal character of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad of the DC Universe. With her outstanding portrayal of the fictional character, some might even regard Robbie to have the same personality in real life, which is true to some extent, judging how her bubbly persona ended up putting her in an awkward situation with Clint Eastwood.

This dates back to the 2015 Academy Awards when the I, Tonya actress had to present on stage. It was then that she had an embarrassing encounter with the Hollywood legend. Recalling the incident, she said,

“I went backstage because I had to present [on stage] and afterwards I did an interview… they gave me this bottle of champagne. I was back in my seat and we were in an ad break, so I opened it. It popped really loudly. Clint Eastwood was sitting right in front of me and he turned around and glared at me. I kind of ducked my head.”

Sharing the experience, the Barbie star also doubted if that was just Eastwood’s natural expression. Unsure, she continued saying,

“I don’t know. Maybe he wanted some? It looked like a glare, though.”

But while she remained hesitant to conclude, Margot Robbie still feared she might have angered and made a bad impression on the veteran star by getting a bit too comfortable at the Oscars.

Although Margot Robbie never got a chance to collaborate with the renowned director himself, she did get a chance to work with his son in the DCEU 2016 movie Suicide Squad. In the movie, Robbie played Harley Quinn while Scott Eastwood portrayed Lt. GQ Edwards. However, while the latter was seen in a significant role in the initial movie, his absence in James Gunn’s sequel of the movie stirred up a lot of rumors.

Recalling the time when he wasn’t sure if he wanted to work in the sequel due to the studio’s reluctance to pay him and not knowing what he was signing up for, younger Eastwood shares when he approached his father for his opinion on the situation, saying,

“I said, ‘They don’t want to pay me.’ He [Clint Eastwood] said, ‘If it feels like they really need you and if it’s a good part, then do it. If not, then don’t.’”

Just like that Scott Eastwood ended up not playing a part in James Gunn-directed and Margot Robbie starrer Suicide Squad 2 (2021).
