Mindy Kaling Gets Called A Hack For Velma

Based on the characters created by the Hanna-Barbera animation company, HBO tried to bring the nostalgia back with a little too much modern-day cringe to it. Mindy Kaling was especially hated for her role as the lead character of Velma Dinkley as she navigates through the mysteries, while the characters insult and blurt every offensive joke there is for the people to hate.

“Mindy Kaling is getting more work, by the way. Which is wild to me because she’s literally not talented. Her shows are not funny, but she’s apparently getting a bunch of work at Amazon as well. Don’t know anything about Hacks. I know Mindy Kaling’s a hack. Maybe she should be on Hacks. This just blows me away.”

Not only in her professional life, but The Office star B.J. Novak also talked about his romance with his on-screen partner during their run in the show.

Known for the portrayal of Ryan Howard in the hit sitcom The Office (US), B.J. Novak shared the screen with Mindy Kaling. According to the storyline of the show, the duo dated, however, fiction turned into reality as the co-stars actually did date during the run of The Office.

“We were in love with each other, and we were reckless idiots. The two of us would argue about all of these things forever, grinding the writers room to a halt until we got too upset, and we’d go to our respective offices and slam the door, where we would continue arguing over AOL Instant Messenger.”

The actor further went on to call their love a “tumultuous, romantic, toxic, boundaryless mess”. Novak revealed that he had to make it through with Mindy Kaling even if things did or did not work. With another season in the works, Velma currently stands at a record low of 1.5/10 on IMDB.

Velma’s first season is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
