But the series proved to be a little too far for the actress because there was a scene that almost put her in much danger. And that was not because of a stunt. It was apparently because of chowing down on pasta.

According to IMDb, Jodie Comer [talking about her character in Killing Eve] said that she “had to eat pasta all day for nine hours,” and she “literally didn’t go to the toilet for two weeks.”

The actress also shared her harrowing experience in a Q&A with fellow cover star Sandra Oh on Entertainment Weekly. She recalled that this scene was about her “eating some pasta in a very grotesque way . . . She’s trying to prove a point about something.”

She continued that her character, Villanelle, was “playing it up, being her usual childish self, and the pasta was extremely dry.” Comer added:

“And it was extremely thick. I was shoveling it in, and then it just shot down my throat, and then I was full-on choking. They must have it on camera—a medic came in and managed to get it out, but my life definitely flashed before me . . . I just remember being opposite the other actor and looking at him, and he thought I was making a weird acting choice. So yeah, it’s ruined pasta for me completely.”

However, a few months later, when the Hollywood actress looked back, she just laughed at the absurdity of the situation. “It was my most dangerous Villanelle moment,” she joked.

That’s not the particular segment of her life that was affected by the character. The 30-year-old actress also revealed in 2019 that the show hasn’t done her favors in any way.

When asked about her romantic life by The Australian newspaper (via Harper’s Bazaar), she said: “Oh, zero, darling, zero.”

“I don’t know if it’s particularly because I’ve played a psychopath. I don’t get approached at all. Which is fine – I’m never in one place long enough,” she added.

However, it was reported that she was dating American James Burke. The actress also shared a cute snap of her with Burke in 2020. But after three years of dating, she called it a quit this year.
