The Hollywood actor known for starring in shows like The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal, has become one of the most beloved actors in the industry. He has recently gained momentum for portraying the character of Joel Miller in the HBO Max adaptation of the action-adventure game The Last of Us. The character he portrays is violent and is shown to be ruthless in his quest to protect Ellie.
However, it’s not the same for the actor. While Pascal shared that he is “quick to anger,” he did not get angry after he got into a road rage incident. The actor recalled the same during a conversation with Steven Yeun on Variety’s Actors on Actors.
Pedro Pascal Recalls His Road Rage Incident
Pedro Pascal recently joined the Oscar-nominated actor Steven Yeun on Variety’s Actors on Actors. Talking about the latter’s 2023 TV series, Beef, which follows two strangers after they get into a road rage incident, the two discussed if they have ever had a similar experience.
The Game of Thrones star shared that he has had three road rage incidents in the past couple of months and admitted that they have all been his fault. However, he shared the most recent that involved him cutting someone off “to get out of their way.”
He further described that the driver of the other vehicle did not want him to do that and constantly blew the horn. The actor shared that his sister was with him in the car. While he didn’t pay much attention to it at first, he was surprised after his sister exclaimed, “Oh my God.” Both he and his sister were surprised to see a big glob of saliva on the passenger window.
“I look over, and there’s a big glob of saliva,” he said. The driver of the other vehicle had spit on Pascal’s car from his car. When The Walking Dead actor asked what his reaction was, the Narcos actor claimed that although he was in shock, it did not make him angry.
The Road Rage Incident Shocked And Humbled Pedro Pascal
Further into the conversation, Pedro Pascal shared that after he saw the “glob of saliva” on the passenger window of his car, he was shocked. However, it did not trigger him, as he was able to realize that he was at fault in that situation. During his appearance on Variety’s Actors on Actors, he shared,
“I was in shock. It didn’t trigger any kind of rage out of me. It triggered, like ‘Whoa! I guess, I really crossed the line.”
He shared that although the incident did not make him angry, it triggered many other emotions in him. “It absolutely kind of humbled me, and shocked me, scared me a little bit, disturbed me,” he said before adding that he didn’t get angry despite being “quick to anger.”
The Prospect star explained that he felt “guilty” after the incident, saying, “I was like, ‘Gosh, people are going through sh*t.” While he is known for portraying some complex characters on the screen, the actor was able to reflect on his actions during that incident.
