Mark Wahlberg has not had an easy childhood. From a criminal record to losing friends at a young age, he has seen things that led him to believe that he might just not make it past the age of 35. He was trying his best to work through life in the quickest way possible without finding a more futuristic vision.
“Certainly when I was younger I was living in the fast lane. I lost four friends of my age last year alone. For a while, I didn’t see it happening – I don’t know if it was just the way I was looking at life or the world but now I love life and I’m enjoying it to the fullest.”
He did not think at all that he could live longer than he had anticipated. He learned to look at life in a more positive way and was even looking forward to seeing his career flourish the older he got. Once he hit the mark, he was only looking forward to more and more when it came to being with his family and growing in his career.
Mark Wahlberg Is Happy To Be An Old Actor
Now that Mark Wahlberg is way past the age he feared he would not survive, he is more than looking forward to embracing his age and how it impacts his position in the Hollywood industry.
“I embrace getting older, I embrace playing the dad, I embrace playing the elder statesman – it’s fun, and I’m lucky enough to still be able to do it, so it’s a blessing.”
His goal after crossing the age of 35 was to make it to 40 and above that. Now that he is 52 years old, he looks at the bright side of how he has worked with some of the most respected and renowned actors in the industry.
