What many fans were shocked to know, however, is that a potential reunion between the two could have been possible a year ago. Alas, the John Wick alum was preoccupied with having to work in the fourth film of his acclaimed franchise. The Canadian actor almost had a part to play in the 2022 Sandra Bullock-starrer, The Lost City.

In an interview with Screen Rant, the directors of the film, Adam Nee and Aaron Lee were the first to bring light to this revelation. The two admitted that Brad Pitt was their first choice for the cameo. However, with how swarmed up the actor usually is, they never expected him to partake in the film. Therefore, the Nee brothers also considered Keanu Reeves for The Lost City. Alas, the latter, too, was preoccupied with having to film for John Wick.

However, thanks to Sandra Bullock’s cameo in Bullet Train, the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actor was able to make time for the Nee brothers’ cinematic initiative.

Adam Nee stated:

“I think we thought it was gonna be Keanu Reeves initially, but he was tied up with John Wick and that’s where we were like, ‘Brad was always our first choice,’ but we didn’t think it was gonna happen. Then [Sandra Bullock] did Bullet Train and it came together. And I love Keanu, he would’ve been fun too.”
