Eva Mendes, the actress who has been married to Hollywood hotshot Ryan Gosling, once refused to star alongside Will Smith back in 2005. With words like “regret” and wanting to be a “serious actress”, Mendes initially refused the Men in Black actor for a romantic comedy.
Talking about the 2005 movie titled Hitch, Eva Mendes blatantly disregarded the movie as trash. Stating that she wanted to be taken as a serious actress, she, later on, joined the film while also revealing that meeting the Men in Black actor was one of the biggest highlights in her career.
When Eva Mendes Refused To Work With Will Smith
Although there was no bad blood between the two actors, the Ghost Rider actress simply refused to work in the 2005 movie Hitch starring Will Smith. While giving reasons, the actress stated that she wished to be an actress meant to be taken seriously.
Stating that romantic comedies were something that people took lightly, the actress refused to work with Will Smith. In an interview, the actress opened up about her thought process behind her decision to say no initially and how she could never figure out the right answer.
“I give it a chance and I read it and stuff then it’s like no. Actually I said no to “Hitch” and I was like I love Will but I want to be a serious actress. I don’t want to do a romantic comedy. I am an idiot. And of course, meeting Will was like one of the highlights of my career and meeting Jada and then that movie, working with Sony, it’s just so funny now.”
After initially refusing the actor, Mendes did agree to the role and later on, starred alongside Will Smith in the 2005 movie. According to an interview, the actress had a hard time kissing Will Smith since she was so nervous to do so.

We all have our unique combos of food that we try. Well, Eva Mendes was no special since she had her own combo of food items that probably should not have been put together. Revealing in an interview, the actress admitted that she ate a tuna fish sandwich with some extra onions and Doritos.
Seemingly referring to the dish as a “Stank Breath Special”, Mendes later on asked Will Smith about their kiss with the question “I never asked you. How was it?”. Being a gentleman, Smith simply replied that “It was absolutely wonderful.”
