New Gods is one of those DC Films projects that most of the fans might not have even known was in production, which depicts the scale of mismanagement that Warner Bros. Discovery had been going through under the previous leadership. Films like Batwoman were also caught in the crossfire of this situation until Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav made the executive decision to bring in some new blood in the form of James Gunn and Peter Safran to lead the future of the DCEU.

And it seems like Gunn has taken over the loose reigns of the company and decided to take any casualties with future projects and flip them over to create something new.

With the exit of the former director of Warner Bros. Discovery Walter Hamada, James Gunn, along with Peter Safran, were given the task of taking over the next era of DC Studios, which will take place along a vast multitude of multimedia forms and through a myriad of different stories related to superheroes from different worlds of DC Comics. With the experience that James Gunn has accumulated over these years working with both DC Studios and Marvel Studios, it’s no stretch that the future is in capable hands.

Tom King, the writer who co-wrote the script of the film, revealed that this possibility might come to fruition soon. He said:

“Ah, I mean, anything’s possible, I love that script. I loved working with Ava. It was an absolute joy. She’s a genius storyteller. You absolutely never know. I don’t want to close any doors. Right now, I’m just so incredibly busy. I have so much on my plate. It’d be hard to see taking on a whole movie right now. But that script has never been read. The movie was taken off the docket because it conflicted with the plans they had at the time. So who knows? When new plans come, maybe new opportunities will arise. That’s complete speculation. I have absolutely no knowledge. I’d love to work with Ava again. She was a joy.”

After the management rumble in WB Discovery, fans are now more than excited to see James Gunn take the right actions to make DC Studios compete with its Marvel counterpart.
