Known for bringing his unique humor to movies while telling mature and heartfelt stories, Taika Waititi’s unique charm seems to also have a great impact on his wife’s life. Despite being high-profile celebrities, both Rita Ora and Waititi were successful in keeping their special bond secret for a long while before eventually revealing that they have tied the knot with each other.
Though the singer might have been quiet about her relationship with the director in the past, Ora hasn’t backed away from commending her partner and how he helped her during her darkest times.
Rita Ora wasn’t in the best position before meeting Taika Waititi
Despite garnering immense success at a young age through her songs and soon attaching herself to the realm of Hollywood, Rita Ora hit a low point in her life. The I Will Never Let You Down singer explained that she once lost all of her confidence and stopped writing songs after she struggled to make a difference in the industry and felt discouraged. Ora explained the situation by stating,
“I spent such a long time fighting to be heard throughout my experience being in the industry that I guess I lost a lot of confidence and hope, fell low. And I guess when you’re at your lowest point, you can make a choice. You either get back up and keep going or let it consume you. And I did that.”
But after hitting rock bottom, which made her fly to Australia for a while, Rita Ora would soon encounter the love of her life, who’d change her life for the better.
Taika Waititi’s inclusion in her life helped Rita Ora in regaining confidence
Despite experiencing a low point in her life, after coming across the Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, things eventually turned out great for the Oscar-nominated singer. Following Waititi’s humorous and charming personality, Ora was able to get over her inner demons and eventually regained the confidence to write new songs and get her career back on track. While speaking with Billboard, Ora commended Waititi for being a positive influence in her life and stated,
“I got up. I flew to Australia to do The Voice over there, and I met somebody who changed me forever. Meeting Taika, who is my husband, I never felt that before, and so I just wrote it all down, and I thought, ‘Okay, I think it’s time to make some music again.’ And here we are.”
Ever since their marriage, Rita Ora has been able to move on from her struggling past and is now happy as ever and recently released her latest single, Praising You, a collaborative project with producer Fatboy Slim.
