With the era of Brennesaince that Brendan Fraser seemed to bring with him to Hollywood, fans around the world have been ecstatic about the actor’s comeback. Although the people loved Fraser’s latest project The Whale, the actor doesn’t believe that he is truly…back.
The Mummy actor admitted that it all seems unreal and that he will snap out of it soon. Brendan Fraser admitted that he feels lacking something and that he needs to prove himself to Hollywood that he is not a fraud but a true actor from the 90s.
Brendan Fraser Calls Himself a Fraud
Following critical acclaim and numerous award nominations for The Whale, Brendan Fraser’s fame skyrocketed to new heights. With the era of Fraser’s return to the big screens, the actor feels like an imposter sitting on the interview chair.

In an interview, the George of the Jungle actor revealed that he will never be as comfortable with Hollywood as he was during the 1990s. Recalling a time when people loved Brendan Fraser, the actor fears that someone will just burst open the door and tell him that he’s a fraud.
“I can’t get rid of the feeling that someone’s gonna walk in the room and tell me that I’m a fraud, or that I have impostor syndrome. They’re gonna hand me a dish-towel and I’ll have to go get back to work. But I hope I never lose that. In a way. Because I’m still not done proving myself yet. And to do that, I need bigger and greater challenges.”
As hurtful as these statements sound, the Canadian-American actor states in a positive way that he should be given greater challenges for future roles so that he may prove to the world that he is indeed not a fraud but a true veteran actor lost in time. Following the loss of his acting career in Hollywood in recent years, several projects have been lined up for the actor including…a Martin Scorsese movie.
