Helldivers 2 is one of the rare gaming experiences where game developers cater and listen to the requests of the community. However, there is one feature that is still missing and the players are begging for it to see the light of day that could be a great addition.

It may seem like a cosmetic piece for some but it has its uses and special features that could be used in a fight. Players will need every advantage they can get their hands on as they face extraterrestrial threats and a recon helmet could tip the scales in their favor.

Arrowhead Game Studios went above and beyond and gave the gaming community a somewhat realistic depiction of intergalactic warfare. The vision of the developers is quite similar to other franchises and some ideas can be easily carried over like a diegetic heads-up display for helmets that can scan the area for hostiles and injured allies.

These helmets could help with areas with low visibility. It wasn’t long ago when the gaming community discovered the weakness of the Shriekers in Helldivers 2 which is their poor eyesight and learned that smoke stratagems and smoke bombs are essential to sneak through and move to a better position with a greater tactical advantage unscathed. Recon helmets could be extremely useful in these kinds of situations.

It is unfortunate to see this ambitious concept being cut due to time constraints, perhaps if Arrowhead Game Studios had more time before release they could have implemented this feature. This feature could have been a major help for those struggling to see what they are shooting at during a mission and make the experience a little bit smoother.

The game is already great as it is, with a few bugs and glitches but despite all the flaws, the gaming community is enamored by the game. There is always room for improvement and older ideas that were cut because of time constraints can most likely be added in future updates or patches.

The beauty of live service games is that they receive constant support from the developers. Perhaps enough time has passed for Pilestedt to figure out a way how to include the intended feature for the helmets and even design more missions to utilize them.

The gaming community came out swinging with a flurry of impressive ideas to improve the mission variety and one example is for a quick raid mission.

Players can deploy smoke bombs, creating a blanket of fog that obscures the vision of enemy combatants. Additionally, they can don special helmets for stealthy recon missions, enabling them to maneuver undetected behind enemy lines without engaging in direct combat.
