Many storytelling mistakes changed Sakura Haruno from a liked character into one of the most disliked in the Naruto fandom. Unbalanced in writing, and puzzling in personal character development, his arc brought forth problems with respect to his choices in the end. Moreover, her former way of being in love with Sasuke Uchiha has become an annoyance, because she was seen as weak for being in one-way love.

Major problems came when Sakura didn’t really play any leading parts in some of the very important moments and made questionable choices, such as attempting unnecessary sacrifice and marrying Sasuke. Such developments angered people and brought a lot of criticism and dislike from fans.

It legitimizes the reputation that her character has major weaknesses and is very annoying to bear with. As the series advanced, Sakura’s potential shriveled up, and her character became nothing but a bad omen of Naruto’s several story arcs, tagging her as one of the most hated characters in the entire anime fan base.

The internet is full of sarcastic GIFs and harsh reviews against Sakura. This goes to show what an impact her portrayal in the series has left on the audience.

Although Katsuki Bakugo’s nagging personality in My Hero Academia has won him a lot of criticism, Sakura Haruno receives even louder criticism from people compared to what Bakugo. More than anything, the amount of hate the character of Sakura gets has set the standard on how far this angry fandom can deliver dissatisfaction.

Through this online debate, one thing that is easy to see is that Sakura’s reputation at the moment is in shambles within the fandom. It has become the ideal example of just how much a popular character can fall in everyone’s eyes, if not written convincingly for the viewers.
