It is very well known that Tite Kubo is one of the big three mangakas who has created the legendary series “Bleach“. He is also famous for his unique and very impressive character designs. One can easily claim that he put remarkable creativity into all of his characters. Still, it seems that his preference for female characters is a bit more unique.
So what motivates Kubo’s design of his female characters? What kind of inspirations and tastes draw out their appearances, personalities, and roles in his stories? You would be quite surprised to know what his answer was.
Tite Kubo Loves BUSTY Female Characters!
Tite Kubo has often been addressed as the man who designs female characters with, shall we say, extra features. In a joint interview with Gege Akutami, the creator of the extremely popular “Jujutsu Kaisen,” Kubo jokingly admitted to the question,
I’d answer, ‘Busty ones.’
However, he was quick to add,
Ah, that’s not my type in real life though. I only prefer big boobs on fictional characters.
He thereby made it clear that his trend toward designing bustier female characters was not based on personal preference at all. Rather, it was a creative decision. It is through this aspect of his work that we come to understand the subtleties of Kubo’s creative approach and what shapes his iconic female characters.
Rangiku Matsumoto May Be Kubo’s Favourite Female Character In Bleach
Given Tite Kubo‘s confessed partiality to designing bustier female characters, it is immensely interesting to consider which character in the Bleach universe might hold a special place in his heart. Certainly, one could say that it is Rangiku Matsumoto! An officer in rank within the Gotei 13 and the friend of Captain Kyoraku, Rangiku features substantially in the series and perfectly fits Kubo’s noted preference in design.
Though we can’t say with absolute certainty, Rangiku as a character represents exactly what Kubo holds dear in his female characters. She is strong, witty, strikingly beautiful, and has big b**bs—all this makes her a very interesting and memorable character even among the fans!
Not to mention the fact that throughout the series, she is there, thus giving credibility to Kubo’s unique thought process in creating a female character that strikes so close to reality for most of the fans worldwide (talking about Kubo’s preference for busty female characters). Thus, Rangiku has to hold a special place for Kubo, and she may even be his favorite female character from the Bleach universe.
