Scarlett Johansson addressed rumors of her auditioning to be Tom Cruise’s girlfriend

After Scientologist Brendan Tighe claimed that Scarlett Johansson allegedly auditioned to be the Top Gun: Maverick star’s girlfriend, the MCU actress came forward to clear the air with a statement. She went on to debunk all these claims, as Johansson refuse to entertain this idea and claimed the idea of auditioning to be someone’s partner is pretty demeaning to her. The actress stated,

“The very idea of any person auditioning to be in a relationship is so demeaning. I refuse for anyone to spread the idea that I lack the integrity to choose my own relationships. Only a man, a.k.a. Brendan Tighe, would come up with a crazy story like that,”

Although it’s pretty obvious that the Jojo Rabbit star never indulged herself in this reported audition, she does comprise huge respect for the Top Gun star, and Tom Cruise shares the same viewpoint for her.

Tom Cruise is adamant to star alongside Scarlett Johansson

The two movie stars haven’t backed away from commending one another for their contributions to cinema and it might not be too long before we witness Cruise and Johansson share the silver screen. After the Asteroid City star recently showcased her interest in collaborating with the Mission: Impossible actor for a future project, Tom Cruise has something similar to say when asked about the idea. On asked whether the two would share screen someday, he explained,

“Yes. It’s gonna happen… Look, I’ve watched her career her whole life. She’s enormously talented, very charismatic. It’d be fun. She could do everything. She could do comedy, drama, action, suspense. She’s someone that really draws you in on the screen, on camera. So absolutely, it’s gonna happen.”
