But, that wasn’t the first time they had met. The duo first crossed paths during the Spike TV Awards. There, Ford won the Guy’s Choice category. Later, when they reconvened for Extraordinary Measures, Fraser wanted to know what had he done with the award. The answer disappointed him but later on, Ford’s support made him laugh.

“I was selling mummy warriors and he was selling crystal skulls. It was my duty, my obligation, to present him with Spike TV’s Brass Balls Award.”

Then, when they met for Extraordinary Measures, Fraser asked the Star Wars star if he still had the Spike TV award because he wanted to see it. But Ford’s answer disappointed him. Fraser said:

“I later met him to read [for Extraordinary Measures] in an office and I was feeling it out — I wasn’t sure if I was getting hired or not — and I said, ‘I gotta ask, so whatever became of the Brass Balls?’ I was daring myself to say, ‘Jump up and down, I want to hear them clank.’ But he said, ‘Nah, I sold them for scrap metal.'”

However, later on, Ford did something that made up for that disappointment while also making The Whale star smile.

Brendan Fraser admitted that he was nervous during the filming of Extraordinary Measures. He was actually so frazzled that he failed to remember one line even after trying 15 times. This is when Harrison Ford stepped in. The Indiana Jones star took a sharpie and duct tape from the crew and then wrote down Fraser’s line on it.

After that, incredulously, he put the duct tape on his head. This action elicited laughs from the crew as well as The Mummy star himself. Fraser said:

“It was hysterical, but it totally defined Harrison. His philosophy on acting is ‘Do it, and do it right.’”

Ford later explained why he had done so. The star said that he was just trying to get Fraser to loosen up. The Air Force One star said:

“Every once in a while, an actor gets stuck on something, and he just needs to relax. I was just trying to get him to relax. Acting is all about being comfortable. Marlon Brando once said that an actor can’t care about anything or the audience will see it on his face. Maybe Brendan was caring too much.”

Whatever the reason may have been for Fraser getting nervous, this smooth act by Ford calmed him down and they went on to shoot the film without hiccups.
