Bruce Willis’s inability to communicate verbally was confirmed by Tallulah Willis’ family in early 2022 when they revealed his diagnosis of aphasia. Frontotemporal dementia, a degenerative neurological condition, was later identified as the cause of this symptom.
Although others had noted Bruce Willis’ indifference in the family, his daughter took it personally, worrying that her father no longer cared about her. This sense of inadequacy exacerbated her emotional distress.
Tallulah Willis Faces Her Demons
Tallulah Willis struggled with her own demons as she watched her father’s health deteriorate. For four years, she had fought against anorexia nervosa. The Bandits actress was ashamed of her illness, but by keeping it a secret, Willis felt she could maintain some semblance of power over her life.

I find that I’m trying to document, to build a record for the day when he isn’t there to remind me of him and of us.”
