Willing to leave it all behind, Angelina Jolie is planning to flee Hollywood and spend more time in another country. According to the actress, her divorce from Brad Pitt generated unnecessary drama and chaos, which wrecked her life giving her extreme stress. Therefore willing to leave her stress behind, Jolie plans on quitting Hollywood.
Angelina Jolie Became the Tabloid Target After Her Divorce
It has been years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt created a massive drama unlike any, in the entertainment industry during their divorce. And yet, the actress believes the pain and the stress are still similar to that of the very first day. Speaking with The Wall Street Journal and discussing how her divorce still impacts her, Jolie spoke about her current position in Hollywood.
Despite holding a strong position in the entertainment industry for decades, Angelina Jolie believes, it took only one divorce to ruin her entire career. According to Jolie, she wouldn’t have become an actor if she was just starting in the industry in 2023. Apparently, the intense public scrutiny following her divorce is what made her feel this particular way.
“I wouldn’t be an actress today. When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.”
Jolie recalled her time from the set of her Disney sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil when she became the tabloid target after her divorce from Brad Pitt. Therefore, now after years of being mistreated in the industry due to her personal choices, the actress is willing to quit Hollywood, leave behind her problems and relocate.

Angelina Jolie Plans to Leave Hollywood and Relocate
Discussing during her interview how she is gravely affected by the tabloids, Angelina Jolie spoke about suffering from extreme stress. “My body reacts very strongly to stress,” she told the outlet. Explaining the health issues that originate from all the controversies related to her and her family, Jolie expressed how her divorce wrecked her life.
“My blood sugar goes up and down. I suddenly had Bell’s palsy six months before my divorce.”
With a lack of social life, Angelina Jolie claimed to try and live a peaceful life in Los Angeles with her family. Despite refraining from paying attention to what the media writes about her, Jolie mentioned being followed by unwanted attention, everywhere she goes. She claimed that it all started after her separation from Pitt in 2016.
“It’s part of what happened after my divorce. I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can…I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.”
Therefore, Angelina Jolie told the outlet how she eventually plans to quit Hollywood, leave Los Angeles for good, and spend more time at her home in Cambodia.
