Years after The Dark Knight trilogy became as iconic as it has, Christian Bale gave an interview with Variety where he revealed quite an interesting piece of information about the filming of one of the movies. It is safe to say that when a Batman movie is being made, it is going to be very high-profile, and everyone will know what is going on.

Since a lot of the backdrop of the movie was based in high-society settings to match Bruce Wayne’s billionaire status, some of the scenes were filmed in popular locations that fit Christopher Nolan’s vision. One such place happened to be the building of the infamous businessman and 45th president of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

We were filming on ‘Batman’ in Trump Tower and he said, come on up to the office.

Bale revealed that part of the movie was shot on Trump Tower. Since the movie’s filming was very well-known at the time, he got an opportunity to meet the businessman in person in his office.

Did Donald Trump Think That He Was Talking To Bruce Wayne?

It is common knowledge that Christian Bale is a very dedicated method actor, opting to stay in character even when the cameras are turned off so that he can give his performance his best. Since he met Donald Trump when he was still on the clock, the actor ended up being in Bruce Wayne’s skin through and through.

During the interview, he revealed that this dedication he had to the role, and the fact that he was still completely in costume, made Trump act like Bale was Batman himself.

I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne, because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.

Rather than correcting him for the mix-up, he took it as the joke it was and leaned into it. He continued to perform during their meeting, and it became quite a funny interaction for the Oscar-winning actor. Bale went on to add that he had no idea about Trump’s political future at the time. That only seemed to add to the bizarreness of the whole situation.
