Even though Affleck and Garner met on the set of a movie and fell in love on the set of a movie, he did not like the idea of working on projects when they were together. “My wife and I made Pearl Harbor and Daredevil. With our track record, I don’t know if anyone’s looking for a threequel,” he quipped.“I think audiences have a hard time suspending disbelief,” he told Time “They already know a whole bunch of things about the relationship you have with the other person and if you try and thrust you and another person into a fictional relationship, I think it is distracting.”

He went on to talk about how he thought that the fact that he and Garner were in a relationship was distracting from the actual story of the characters on screen. He was however not averse to the idea of directing a movie with Garner as the female lead. This though will probably not be happening anytime soon as the couple split in 2018.
