In an interview, Kubo revealed that the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime did a better job of portraying the story and developing the presence of characters compared to the anime. He even pointed out the two characters who were not focused much on in the manga, but the anime did a good job of redeeming them with the help of voice actors.

The two characters in the discussion are Ryūnosuke Yuki and Shino Madarame, who served as the replacement for Zennosuke Kurumadani as the guardian of Karakura Town. Although these characters do not hold much significance to the story, the anime still manages to make them relevant and more important in the plotline.

Tite Kubo Admits Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Anime Was Better Then Manga

Last year, Kubo and the voice actor of Kurosaki Ichigo, Masakazu Morita, were interviewed by Viz Media, where they discussed the voice actors and how they affected the performance of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime. During the interview, Tite Kubo even admitted that the anime did a good job of fleshing out Shino and Ryūnosuke.

Kubo stated:

“From the beginning, every cast member has been spot on and has an incredible grasp of the characters. Take for example, Daiki Yamashita, who plays Ryunosuke, and Asami Seto, who plays Shino. Their characters don’t appear very much in the original manga, but I think they’ve been fleshed out thanks to these VAs.”

Tite Kubo pointed out that both of these characters do not appear much in the original Bleach manga, but the anime redeemed these characters with the help of voice actors Daiki Yamashita and Asami Seto. Their influence on the role was so great that even though they were not important to the story, their presence was felt by Bleach fans.

Bleach VAs Did a Phenomenal Job With The Characters

Kubo even pointed out that because Shino and Ryūnosuke did not have any important roles in the narrative, he never came up with their backstories. But the voice actors of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime had a good grasp on their characters, and they certainly were able to bring it out in the series.

Kubo stated:

“It’s the impression I get from hearing their voices. I personally had no idea what voices would fit them since I didn’t really come up with many backstories for these characters. But the VAs had a good grasp of their characters. It was also refreshing to have new faces join the show. So I thought all of that was really great.”

Yamashita and Seto’s addition to the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime was appreciated by Kubo, and he was happy to see new faces joining the series. They will once again make an appearance in the series as the third part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is scheduled to be released in spring 2024.
