In November 2022, actor Andy Serkis told The Hollywood Reporter that he had doubts about returning to the Star Wars franchise as Kino Loy because he was worried it would cook up more theories,

“I thought it would cause complete uproar and more confusion for the audience, thinking that there would be some sort of connection between the Supreme Leader and Kino Loy,” adding, “I thought, ‘Am I really going to go into this melee of uncertainty again?’ So once I got through the Snoke-theory quagmire, it didn’t take me long to commit.”

In the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, Serkis played Supreme Leader Snoke. The actor was concerned that there would be theories about the connection between Kino Loy and Supreme Leader Snoke.
