There is only one man who can play different roles in a single franchise: Andy Serkis. In the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, Serkis did the voice and motion capture work for a character named Supreme Leader Snoke. His work in the franchise was praised by fans all over the world and hoped to see his return to the franchise. Eventually, he did return to the franchise, but as a different character.
In 2022, fans got Star Wars: Andor, a television series that was a prequel to the spin-off film, Rogue One (2016). In the show, Serkis played the role of Kino Loy but before accepting the role, the actor had serious doubts as he was worried it would cause confusion and invite criticism.
Andy Serkis had second thoughts about returning to the Star Wars franchise
In November 2022, actor Andy Serkis told The Hollywood Reporter that he had doubts about returning to the Star Wars franchise as Kino Loy because he was worried it would cook up more theories,
“I thought it would cause complete uproar and more confusion for the audience, thinking that there would be some sort of connection between the Supreme Leader and Kino Loy,” adding, “I thought, ‘Am I really going to go into this melee of uncertainty again?’ So once I got through the Snoke-theory quagmire, it didn’t take me long to commit.”
In the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, Serkis played Supreme Leader Snoke. The actor was concerned that there would be theories about the connection between Kino Loy and Supreme Leader Snoke.

Andy Serkis is known for his motion-capture roles
Serkis has done motion capture acting, animation, and voice work for many computer-generated characters like Gollum in The Lord of the Rings franchise, King Kong in 2005’s King Kong, Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy (2011–2017). He has also showcased his talent in the gaming industry as he has voiced many iconic characters in video games like Volume (2015) and Heavenly Sword (2007).
Apart from this, the actor has also ventured into the world of filmmaking. He has directed many blockbuster flicks like Breathe (2017), Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018), and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). He is all set to serve as the director, writer, and producer for the upcoming movie, Animal Farm.
