Ayesha Curry, entrepreneur, cookbook author, and wife of NBA superstar Steph Curry, isn’t afraid to speak her mind. But one past public appearance left a sour taste in her mouth. In 2019, Curry made a guest appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s talk show, “Red Table Talk”.
The show, known for its candid discussions about relationships and personal struggles, seemed like a perfect fit for Curry to open up. However, what unfolded after the filming wasn’t what Curry expected. She almost felt betrayed after her comments came out entirely different after the final editing of the interview.
Ayesha Curry Fires Shots at Jada Smith’s Red Table Talk For Making Her Sound Crazy
Ayesha Curry‘s interview on Red Table Talk back in 2019 was meant to be a candid conversation of her talking about the challenges of mental health and motherhood. While she might have felt good after the interview, her reaction was completely different when she saw the final edited cut as she revealed to Insider.
During the episode, Curry spoke about her experience with anxiety, including anxiety about the female attention her husband receives. Curry feels that the show edited her comments in a way that made her seem irrational.
She said that the show “was edited in a way that made (her) sound crazy”. She continued, “It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally.”
It is evident that Curry was heartbroken after watching the interview and following this experience, decided to take a step back from the spotlight. Her sister-in-law Sydel Curry-Lee also had a say in the media’s influence on her family calling the media “a very ruthless space”.
Ayesha Curry Returned To Acting With Netflix’s Irish Wish
Ayesha Curry might be known for many things – restauranteur, cookbook author, wife of NBA superstar Steph Curry – but before all that, she had a budding acting career. After a bit of a hiatus, she recently returned to the silver screen with the Netflix rom-com Irish Wish.
While Curry isn’t a Hollywood veteran, she’s dabbled in acting for some time. Before stepping back to focus on her family and business ventures, she had roles in projects like Hannah Montana and Good Luck Charlie. Released in March 2024, Irish Wish marks a significant comeback for Curry.
In the film, she co-stars alongside Lindsay Lohan. Curry takes on the role of Heather, the best friend of Maddie (Lohan). The story follows Maddie as she travels to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding, harboring secret feelings for the groom. Heather’s character plays a supportive role, as a voice of reason amidst the romantic chaos. Fans can stream the movie on Netflix.
