Alan Ritchson had his breakout as a celebrity albeit a little later than some of the rising stars in Hollywood. For instance, Timotheé Chalamet and Jacob Elordi caught the public’s attention before they were 25. While it has not been the same for Ritchson, he is surely living the dream now at 41.

Ritchson’s acting debut was with the role of Aquaman/Arthur Curry on the CW superhero series Smallville. He played numerous other roles in all the years leading up to his breakout role as the titular lead Jack Reacher in Amazon Studios’ series Reacher.

Alan Ritchson Gained Stardom with Reacher

Although American Idol’s platform gave him celebrity status in 2004, Alan Ritchson did not make it big in the reality show and decided to switch to acting. Landing the role of Aquaman in Smallville was doubtlessly a great feat, but it was good enough for a breakthrough.

Ritchson’s rise to fame after the release of Reacher was nothing short of dramatic. The show is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series and was instrumental in the actor attaining the star status he has been enjoying since the first season’s release.

Not only was his performance as the former U.S. Army military policeman-cum-vigilante praised but also his buffed-up appearance. In an interview with Men’s Health, the actor revealed the secret behind this wonderful transformation. A part of this revelation was his go-to protein shake.

Speaking of the ingredients he used in the protein shake, the Titans actor said:

“My go-to protein shake is ice, almond milk, a ton of protein powder, sometimes a banana but I try to go fruitless and I try to limit the sugar, three giant handfuls of spinach, I do peanut butter, cacao for a little depth of flavor, and avocado. Sometimes I put oats in there if I want a little extra.”

The actor even revealed the various meals he takes throughout the day and his workout regime to attain his jacked-up body.
