Throughout the trailer, one prominent thing to notice is the character of Cyclops. Often being undermined in authority and being out-of-focus in the Foxverse live-action films, that will all change when X-Man ’97 premiers!

Cyclops Will Take The Lead In X-Men ’97

Marvel Studios decided to drop the trailer for its upcoming animated series X-Men ’97 and has got the world excited for the new series. The trailer starts with the animated clip of Charles Xavier’s death in X-Men: The Animated Series and picks up right where the series left off.

With Xavier’s death, the X-Men unite to fight off against Magneto who has taken possession of the last will and testament of Charles Xavier. Having an animation style that is just perfect alongside some serious voice acting, X-Men ’97 will be one of the greatest series created by Marvel Studios. The series will also allegedly correct one mistake that Foxverse kept on doing in their live-action movies. That, is giving Cyclops the respect he deserves!

And with that trailer, people took to X to talk about the character of Cyclops and how badass he is going to be when the series drops!

Cyclops was portrayed by three different actors during the live-action films and none of them seemed to be as memorable as Wolverine or Magneto. Despite being the team leader, Cyclops was often side-lined throughout the movies and was a romantic rival of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine for Jean Grey. The animated Cyclops, on the other hand, seems to be a force to be reckoned with and has powers given to him straight from the comic books!

Who Is The Main Antagonist In X-Men ’97?

Although we mentioned that Magneto is in possession of the last will and testament of Charles Xavier, he is not the big bad baddie in X-Men ’97. During the X-Men: 60 Uncanny Years Live Virtual Event, writer Beau DeMayo confirmed (via The Direct) that Mister Sinister will be the main antagonist of the series.

“A very, very, very, very favorite character of mine and many others, Mr. Sinister, will rear his ugly head from the past with a pretty foolproof plan to destroy the X-Men once and for all.”

With the trailer creating thrills and adrenaline for every X-Men fan on Earth, the series will indeed be beautiful to witness. X-Men ’97 is slated for a release date of 20 March 2024 and will be available to stream on Disney+ around the world.
