Actor Alan Ritchson has gained immense popularity through his role as Jack Reacher in the Amazon Prime series Reacher. However, the actor first rose to prominence by playing Aquaman in Smallville. Ritchson later went on to play Hank Hall / Hawk in Titans.
Despite having two DC characters under his belt, Ritchson apparently isn’t done with the franchise and revealed his dream role was to play Batman. While promoting his upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ritchson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and expressed his affection for the Dark Knight.
“I would love to play Batman. There, I said it, okay? I’ll shout it from the rooftops: I wanna be Bruce Wayne!”
Ritchson added that he adored Batman because he was the most intelligent superhero. The Reacher actor made the following statement, professing his love for the iconic comic book character.
“Here’s the thing about Batman. You know what his superpower is? Intelligence. Dude is the smartest superhero there is. He’s inventive, and he’s got all the gadgets, but he’s super smart. I want to be that guy.”
As a result, it seems Ritchson has started a campaign to play the caped crusader, presumably in James Gunn’s DCU, which is inevitably set to introduce Batman.
