Ryan Gosling reveals the reason for being cast in The Notebook

In conversation with GQ, Ryan Gosling opened up on an unbelievable reason for being cast in Nick Cassavetes’s film. The actor who was once termed the sexiest man alive shared that he was chosen for his non-appealing looks. He said,

“Nick Cassavetes, “straight up told me, ‘The fact that you have no natural leading man qualities is why I want you to be my leading man.’”

La La Land star shared,

“The fact that I wasn’t really right for it was exactly why [director Henry Bean] thought I was right for it.”

The actor also revealed he was once cast as a Jewish man who becomes a Neo-Nazi for the film The Believer. He added that he was cast for similar reasons as stated afore.

Ryan Gosling on facing criticism for playing Ken in Barbie

Ryan Gosling plays the lead role of Ken in the film Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig. The story revolves around the lives of Barbie and Ken, played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling respectively. The movie is doing excellent at the box office and broke numerous records in the first week of its release.

When the trailer was released, people loved Robbie as Barbie. However, some trolls targeted Gosling for being too old for Ken. Our 42-year-old superstar is barely affected by these comments and criticism, which was evident earlier when he was cast in The Notebook with Rachel McAdams.
