The 45-year-old actor portrayed the character of Bane in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. As Bale played the role of Batman in the movie, Hardy recalls the first time when he saw the 49-year-old actor in his Batman suit.

As Christian Bale and Tom Hardy are seen locking horns in the movie The Dark Knight Rises, the Legend actor had a screen test first with the 49-year-old actor. The Taboo actor recalls the first time he saw the American Hustle actor, he was sitting shirtless and Hardy noticed his massive arms. While talking about his meeting with Bale, the Venom actor said,
“Christian can be quite fiery on set but I really wanted to meet him as he is exciting and an impressive actor. He was a massive draw to work with. When I first met him at the screen test I put my outfit on and I got to the trailer and saw him sitting there without a T-shirt on and I saw what his arms were like and I thought, ‘I am going to walk this.”
The actor also remembered the time when he was supposed to do a fight scene with the American Psycho actor. Hardy talked about the time when he performed the action scene with Bale, the Warrior actor said, “It felt like I was beating up my childhood hero.” Hardy also stated that Bale is a very tough guy and he had scared the Lawless actor.

Even though Hardy was scared by Bale but the Ford V Ferrari actor was impressed with him. Bale has appreciated the Bronson actor’s work ethic and shared his experience of working with him. While talking about Hardy during an interview, the Vice actor said,
“I’ve been working with Tom mostly over the last few weeks, he’s a real fascinating actor. He’s going to be creating some wonderful characters over his career and he’s doing so with this. He’s kind of just gleeful, coming into work every day. He’s got a great character to chew the scenery in a good way, and he’s the real deal. I’m very impressed with him. I’m very impressed with all of the cast in this one.”
