Britney Spears was a pop phenomenon back in the day, being one of the most talented and adored artists of all time. She had one of the biggest influences in music, starting a revolution of a new style of music and changing the way people look at celebrities. While there were quite a huge number of things that were positive in her career, a lot more negative things have started to come to light, making fans of the artist extremely upset and concerned about her well-being.
Recently, Spears released a book, titled The Woman in Me, where she went into great detail about these aspects of her life. Amongst this was her relationship with long relationship and extremely public breakup with former NSYNC member, singer, and actor, Justin Timberlake. She released some intimate details of their relationship, like how he used to cheat on her and how she was painted by him after their split.
Justin Timberlake Cheated On Britney Spears
In The Woman in Me, Britney Spears wrote about how Justin Timberlake would very frequently cheat on her over the course of their, almost three-year-long, relationship. She revealed that though there were a lot of speculations on the matter at the time that was rubbed in her face by the media, she was only 100% sure about his unfaithfulness a couple of times. There were also rumors of him being involved with fans and other famous individuals which were common knowledge at the time.
“When NSYNC went to London in 2000, photographers caught him with one of the girls from All Saints in a car. But I never said anything. At the time we’d only been together for a year.” she then added, “Another time, we were in Vegas, and one of my dancers who’d been hanging out with him told me he’d gestured toward a girl and said, ‘Yeah, man, I hit that last night,’” she continues. “I don’t want to say who he was talking about because she’s actually very popular and she’s married with kids now. I don’t want her to feel bad.”
She added that despite this, she turned her head to the other side and didn’t pay much attention to it. The reason for this was the fact that she was deeply in love with Timberlake and was infatuated with him. Due to this, she would never say anything to him, despite how serious they were about each other and their relationship.
Britney Spears Was Painted As The Villian
While Britney Spears also confessed to cheating on him one time, with with choreographer Wade Robson, it is extremely ironic to see the narrative that was being painted by Justin Timberlake after their break up. He managed to gain public sympathy after their split after painting the artist as unfaithful, making the general public look at her and call her extremely derogatory words reserved only for women.
“The truth: I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood. … The thought of my betraying him gave [his] album more angst, gave it a purpose: shit-talking an unfaithful woman … Everyone felt very sorry for him. And it shamed me.”
She hated how this was spun, not being helped by the fact that in the music video of Cry Me a River, a woman who looked similar to her cheated on one unfortunate and sad Timberlake. This was also extremely ironic because, while he was enjoying the success he was getting from this attention, partying, and ‘running around Hollywood’, Spears was sad and depressed because of their split.
