“We asked Nico Parker to play an incredibly challenging part. We have to fall in love with her. […] It was important for us to present the audience with a Sarah that we felt we could follow for the rest of the series. She’s almost the protagonist, until disaster strikes. Something that Nico Parker and Pedro Pascal pulled off gorgeously.”

The Last of Us creator, writer, and executive producer Craig Mazin said that Parker had to play a very different role from her usual self to fit in the role of Sarah.

HBO’s Adaptation of Popular Game – The Last of Us

HBO did a perfect job of casting Nico Parker as Sarah in The Last of Us. She played a very important role in the game too – setting up the scene for the whole plot. Though she had a very brief role in the series, her role as Joel’s daughter was perfect and her character set Joel’s role for the rest of the show. The Last of Us was always a good game and a proper candidate for an adaptation into a movie or a series.

In the game The Last of Us, the storyline and plots are really well made, with much depth in character details. The game shows the life of Joel who is a survivor of this whole outbreak for over 20 years, and Ellie who is a teenager with great humor and defiance in her life, without any immediate family. Though the game shows us the broken characters with important roles in this zombied world, there is still a ray of hope even within this bleak world.

The Last of Us is available for streaming on HBO Max.
