There is no doubt that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man franchise has a soft spot in the hearts of the fans. The movies were relatable, entertaining, and loveable and no amount of praise would be enough for the cultural change it brought. It not only gave some of the most iconic scenes but also some of the most loved memes and dialogues.

The impact the movie had on the fans, despite its flaws, was beyond imaginable. However, not every scene is exactly the same as what it appears to be on the screen. Many sequences take days to shoot while others aren’t as happy as they seem. One such scene just so happened to be one of the most iconic scenes in the Spider-Man franchise.

Tobey Maguire Almost Drowned Upside Down

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst had quite a lot of scenes together throughout the Spider-Man trilogy. Playing love interests for each other certainly supported that. However, one particular scene in question was horrible to film and an even more disturbing memory for Maguire.

“When he was doing the scene, I remember the water was falling down into his upside down nostrils, so he was kind of drowning. But it was a kissing scene. So he had to pretend like it was a pleasant, sweet moment for him, when in fact, he was semi-drowning.” Maguire added. “I couldn’t breathe and I was gasping for breath out of the corner of Kirsten’s mouth. Poor girl. I was giving her mouth to mouth rather than kissing her. But in the midst of that, I was sneaking some pleasure out of it.”

One iconic sequence was when Mary Jane and Spider-Man were kissing upside down. However, that was not the worst part. The scene also had rain and Maguire’s nostrils were getting completely clogged, making it immensely difficult for him to breathe. He tried his best to make the scene look pleasurable when in reality he was basically drowning.

Kirsten Dunst Had A Horrible Kiss With Brad Pitt

Kirsten Dunst has kissed a lot of people on screen but none have been as bad as Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire. Although she was considered very lucky for getting a chance to kiss, however, that was not what she had thought. She kissed the actor when Dunst was merely eleven.

“I hated it so much because Brad was like my older brother on set and it’s kind of like kissing your brother. It’s weird because he’s an older guy and I had to kiss him on the lips, so it was gross.”

It took her five years to finally kiss someone else again and she desperately did not enjoy kissing Pitt. In fact, it was a horrible experience for her because of how old he was. Their age difference did not help her at all and instead only pushed her away from enjoying.
