Whenever the list of Hollywood heartthrobs is brought up by guys and gals, many potential individuals from the industry will have shoutouts from their fans. Amidst all these charming personalities, Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds will be in the voices of many. Apart from his extremely good looks, he also possesses a charismatic persona along with a strong sense of humor that makes him even more attractive.
Apart from being a charmer on screen, he is a very well-desired man off-screen as well, so much so that he was married to Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson, one of the most beautiful female actresses in the industry. But after their split, Reynolds went on to find another woman to be by his side in the form of Blake Lively. But as many may think it would’ve been easy for him to woo her, the story plays out in quite the opposite way.
Ryan Reynolds Had To Work Hard To Convince Blake Lively To Marry Him
It might seem a little hard to believe, but Canadian heartthrob Ryan Reynolds had to work to earn Blake Lively’s love. During their first interactions in 2010 for their upcoming film Green Lantern, both of them met on the set but did not attract feelings for each other as both of them were dating other people. While Lively was dating his Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley, Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson since 2008. But sadly, both of them split from their partners in 2010.

After their respective splits, they both started to meet each other regularly for the promotion of Green Lantern, where even then they had no plans to date each other, but their closeness grew little by little. They first felt that there was something between them apart from a great bond of friendship when they went on a double date with each other. During his conversation with SiriusXM, Reynold s confessed:
“We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl — and that was, like, the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across. I remember it was funny, because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single…I think the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends.”
Reynolds also recalled an instance when he wanted to spend more time with Lively, and he found a way to do so. He said:
“Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston, and I said, ‘Well, I’ll ride with you.’ We got on the train and rode together, I was just begging her to sleep with me.”
After their initial sightings together, rumors started to float about the two dating each other. And sure enough, as time went on, those rumors became true, and both of them got married in the year 2012, and the rest is history.
