Hollywood star Amy Adams, who portrayed the renowned journalist Lois Lane in the DCEU alongside Henry Cavill, is also among some of the most celebrated actors in the industry. The actress has starred in several movies and has worked with several renowned names throughout her career as well. While David O. Russell is known for highly acclaimed movies like Three Kings, The Fighter, and Silver Linings Playbook, his career has also been full of controversies. And people were again shocked when the filmmaker was accused of displaying “lunatic behavior” toward his American Hustle star Amy Adams in an email leaked after the Sony hack in 2014. The details were revealed in a mail sent to a Sony executive by a veteran journalist, Jonathan Alter.

According to RadarOnline, the mail stated, “The new stories of his abuse and lunatic behavior are extreme even by Hollywood standards.” Alter also shared in the mail that Russell would grab someone by the collar and constantly curse at others.

His behavior toward the Man of Steel star got so extreme that the Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale had to step in and ask him to stop “acting like an as*hole.” The filmmaker reportedly behaved in the same manner while filming the George Clooney starrer Three Kings. And during a 2016 interview with GQ, Adams confirmed the allegations while recalling working with the Oscar-nominated director.

She said that the Amsterdam director would shout and yell throughout some of the scenes. “He was hard on me, that’s for sure. It was a lot,” the Arrival actress told GQ before adding, “I was really just devastated on set.” She shared that most of the days while filming went on like this.

American Hustle received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Actress for Amy Adams. However, the 49-year-old actress did not find it worth what she had been through while filming. “It’s not OK with me. Life to me is more important than movies,” she said.
