Dave Hollis was in a bad frame of mind during his tenure at Disney

Despite earning millions of dollars under his belt and the most recognition in his career, Dave Hollis chose to quit the company, as he wasn’t in a great frame of mind. With projects pumping out at a furious rate, Hollis found himself stuck, even though he was garnering colossal success. And as a result, the author eventually decided to leave Disney and support his wife’s multimedia empire and eventually follow his dream of writing books. He wrote,

“I got the biggest bonuses of my life, the most recognition of my career, and was the envy of others who had to work harder to do a similar job at other studios; and yet because of that contrast, I was miserable. In what many saw as a crazy move, I quit. In a leap of faith, we made the decision to move our family from LA to a small town just south of Austin, Texas.”

Hollis went on to write a self-help book Get Out of Your Way, and followed it up with his second self-help book Built Through Courage: Face Your Fears to Live the Life You Were Meant For.
