Creating a story of self-discovery and reconnection, the movie emphasizes the importance of having a life outside of a career. Giving a comedic touch to the ridiculous script, the movie exceeds expectations and leaves a lasting experience.
In the movie, Kevin Hart plays the role of Sonny Fisher, who’s a proud dad with two children and a successful architect wife Maya (Regina Hall). Playing the role of a dedicated stay-at-home father, Hart’s character desperately tries to have time alone. Thus, when his wife offers to take the kids away for some quality mom-children bonding, Fisher reunites with his former best friend Huck Dembo. Thus enters Mark Wahlberg.
Wahlberg’s character starts off with a tame 44th birthday celebration which erupts into a wild weekend that ends up threatening Fisher’s reputation as a family man. Attempting to explore the thin line between adulthood and maturity, the movie dives into relatable concepts. Capturing the juxtaposed livelihoods of the two leads, the film executes the different dynamics of living a life. Clearly giving out the idea of life being too short to be a prisoner in one’s home, the movie brings out epic comedy scenes.
Mark Wahlberg Discussed His Family’s Reaction
Mark Wahlberg sits to discuss his experience of filming John Hamburg’s Me Time (2022) when he opens up about his family’s reaction to the movie. Previously working in Uncharted, Wahlberg recalled how different it was to jump out of a rather serious character into utterly hilarious imagery. However, he mentioned having fun while shooting with Kevin Hart.
“It was so much fun. I mean, working with this guy, I don’t want to gas him up any more than he is already gassed up, but this guy is fantastic.” Mark Wahlberg stated.
Expressing how he “cut loose” after Uncharted, Wahlberg mentioned feeling excited about his movie. Keeping aside the 6% Rotten Tomatoes rating, Mark Wahlberg expressed his personal opinion.
“I came into this movie and it was just so much fun. I can’t wait to see the rest of the cast, there’s so many wonderful performances in this movie.”
Further stating his family’s reaction to his hilarious scenes, the actor stated, “I showed my family, they had no idea.” Discussing the laughs and the giggles he received from his family, Mark Wahlberg discussed the comedic naked scene.
“I never told them about the intro to the character, that I was naked, just all my kids were just dying, laughing.”
“It was a complete shock to them, but people are going to absolutely love this movie. I can’t wait because I know there’s going to be a lot of laughter,” Mark Wahlberg stated.
Discussing the importance of keeping people entertained through tough times, Mark Wahlberg stated his personal liking for the movie. The actor even expressed his excitement regarding his fans going frenzy over his hilarious scenes.
