When you are 26, you don’t feel young at all, but now, looking back at it, I was a kid. It was fairly early on in my career to take on something that had so many eyeballs and expectations on it.

The role was a highly coveted one, and the expectations of people terrified the actor. He revealed that the studio did something he “felt was kind of mean.” They released a first look photo that garnered a bunch of public uproar.

I was so incredibly nervous to start this job, and then the internet is having so many hateful opinions on the weird, strange look of the thing.

He soon learned the ways of the entertainment business and recognized that there will always be eyes watching him, especially when he’s taking on a project that’s quite as massive as It.

Skarsgård further admitted that the performance “unlocked something” in him. He noted that the person he can only please with this job is himself. “It gave me the confidence that I can take on any challenge,” he remarked.

Finally, he has accepted that he cannot make everyone happy. When asked if he ever had doubts, he was quick to say, “Every movie I do.”

After this incredible work on It, Skarsgård is now taking on a new project one after the other. He is slated to appear in the Rupert SandersThe Crow this August 23rd, and just like previously, it received more than enough backlash.

The actor’s take on it is quite modern, with his appearance totally different from that of Brandon Lee in the 1994 film. Apart from Skarsgård, the movie will also star FKA Twigs and Danny Huston.

The Crow is a beloved cult-classic film that became controversial due to Lee’s accident on the movie set. Even Alex Proyas, the original director, doesn’t approve of the movie.

Despite all that’s been said, Skarsgård has an impressive filmography that shows the extent of his acting skills. Apart from The Crow, he also just recently starred in Boy Kills World and will soon appear in Nosferatu this December 25th.

It is available to watch on Netflix.
