Having such a wonderful filmography and a method to display his talent wonderfully, many find it astonishing to see the actor taking up roles that may be different from his usual choice. However, they love it regardless. Sometimes his characters get justice while other times they don’t. One such instance was in none other than Spielberg’s film. In fact, he was supposed to get a much better ending than he actually got.

Although Samuel L. Jackson may now be a big name, he started off small. He was used to having minor roles in movies, many of which people might not even remember. This also includes Jurassic Park, where he played a tech guy named Arnold.

Samuel L. Jackson’s character was not as significant, to the point where his death wasn’t even shown on screen. Although many fans had a problem with that, they could not understand why he was killed so casually. His death was sudden and all that was shown was his severed hand. However, Steven Spielberg had an entire scene planned out for him, one that would have given him justice and further importance to his character.

Samuel L. Jackson Got Stuck Because of a Hurricane

Samuel L. Jackson had an entire scene planned out for himself where Arnold’s death would have been shown. It would have also been impactful enough for the audience to remember. However, what Steven Spielberg managed to do was the exact opposite of that. Jackson confirmed that he was indeed supposed to film the scene but he could not make it to the set.

“I was actually supposed to go to Hawaii to shoot my death scene. But there was a hurricane that destroyed all the sets. So I didn’t get to go to Hawaii … All you see is the residue of my body, my arm. But yeah, I was supposed to be on set.”

A hurricane had struck Hawaii and all the sets had been completely destroyed. This complicated things greatly and the idea of his death sequence was scrapped. So the actor never made it to Hawaii and instead, he was killed off without even making it onto the screen.
