Jackie Chan has been a strict disciplinarian concerning how he handles himself and his idea of how to live a good life. However, his children especially his son Jaycee did not share his ideology and this created some friction between him and Chan. Chan expressed his regret for being hard on his son in his book/memoir Never Grow Up saying, (via Variety)

“When [my son Jaycee] was still young, I hit him once, and was very heavy-handed – directly lifting him and throwing him onto the sofa. That time I really scared him and his mother to death, and I myself was very regretful.”

Chan had also said that he would not give any of his earnings to his son (according to Celebrity Net Worth). While all these seem to paint a bad picture of Chan as a father, he seems to be making amends for his past mistakes while at the same time making his son responsible for his own life. On the work front, he had three releases in 2023 including Ride On, Hidden Strike, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
