Charlize Theron’s character Furiosa in Mad Max: Furry Road seemed like it was specifically written for the 47-year-old actress. The Atomic Blonde actress did incredible work in the movie and got a lot of appreciation from the critics and the audiences as well. Reportedly, the reason why Warner Brothers didn’t want to cast Theron in the 2015 movies was because the actress had back-to-back flops.

The makers and the Warner brothers thought as per reports that this might affect their business. But for producers and other makers, Theron was the right actress to play Furiosa. While talking about her role in Mad Max: Furry Road, the 47-year-old actress said,

“I was not really being sparked by anything as an actor, and I didn’t act for three years, but I was working my a** off trying to start a production company. Actors go through spells where you’re not moved by anything and then you go from one extreme to the other, where you can’t stop thinking about something.”

She further added,

“That was kind of where I was at. Because I was starting a production company, I thought I might need representation as far as material and I should probably meet with agencies. So I had a meeting at CAA with Bryan Lourd, who represents George. The timing of it all is quite crazy because if I had never had that meeting, I don’t think I would have ever known about that script.”

The actress shaved her head for the film as it was her character’s demand for the film. Many people applauded her when she shaved her head just for one film. Gal Gadot was also considered for the role of Furiosa but as per the makers she was too young for the part.
