During an exclusive interview with IGN, Gwyneth Paltrow shared how she had just gotten off with her role as Sylvia Plath in the 2003 film, Sylvia. It was a dark and emotionally draining project for her but it is one of the few projects that she made her feel “proud in terms of work”. However, the Sliding Doors actress immediately took on another project as it attracted the actress.

“Yes, this was just so different. I was having such a hard time when I made Sylvia. I really gave everything that I had for that role, and I’m so glad that I did it. It’s certainly one or two or three things that I’m most proud of in terms of my work. But it was very dark.”

Paltrow continued that Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was the kind of project that she was looking for at that time as it offered a rejuvenating experience helping her to recover from her father’s loss.

“And then to finish that and go do Sky Captain it was fantastic because, even though I was still kind of in heavy grief about my Dad a lot of the time, I had to forget about it while I was at work, and I had to kind of dress up and have the blonde hair. It helped me kind of cross over to the next phase where I realized I wasn’t going to die and I had to keep going.”

Bruce Paltrow died at the age of 58, and his cause of death was cited to be pneumonia, however, his health was complicated due to medical issues, and throat cancer added to those problems. After years of fighting the disease, he finally lost his battle in 2002, leaving behind his legacy, and a family overwhelmed with sorrow.

Bruce Paltrow’s Death Inspired His Family

In the aftermath of Bruce Paltrow’s demise, Blythe Danner dedicated her life to spreading awareness for oral cancer by working with Oral Cancer Foundation, she would constantly explain the importance of early detection of cancer, and how it can prevent the loss of your loved one.

During an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Gwyneth Paltrow shared how her passion for cooking comes from her father. She explained that her dad comes from a “humble background.” Hence, after making it big, her father would treat his meals as “extreme pleasure and luxury.”

“My dad was the one who got me into food. He was an extreme foodie. He had a pretty humble background and so when he grew up and became successful and was able to go to restaurants and travel for food it was to him like the most extreme pleasure and luxury.”

Bruce Paltrow has left an immense mark on the life of his daughter. This inspired Gwyneth Paltrow to release a cookbook titled, My Father’s Daughter, in 2011 which was a massive hit. Moreover, her dad’s death has indirectly encouraged her to be a part of the lifestyle and wellness culture.
