Did Chris Evans Challenge Henry Cavill For James Bond’s Role?

Among the various questions that Chris Evans and Ana De Armas answered about their lives, one of the most googled questions was about De Armas’ role as a Bond girl in the 2021 film No Time to Die. The film was also Daniel Craig’s final appearance as the iconic James Bond before the baton passes to another actor.

While stars like Henry Cavill and Idris Elba are in the reckoning to take over from Craig in the mammoth 7.8 billion dollar franchise, Chris Evans too put his name on the list to challenge them for the role. When asked about who will be the next ideal Bond, the actor replied that he was game to take up the character. But upon further questioning, it was revealed that this was a comment made in humor. The actor said,

I’ll do it. I will play the next Bond. I mean Bond Girl”

Evans’ statement was meant as praise for Ana De Armas who according to the actor, did an excellent job as a Bond girl. Though The Gray Man star had expressed in the past that he was keen to play the iconic 007 agent, he was never in the talks for the role in reality.
