Jackie Chan has been a great actor who has always been respected for his skills in the Hollywood industry. He has created friendships along the way and relationships that could last him a lifetime. Although the actor has achieved a lot because of his on-screen performances, there has been one lurking shadow which seemed to have caused quite a controversy.
One news that spread throughout the world was of Chan’s estranged daughter. Although the actor never directly or indirectly addressed her existence, he acknowledged having an affair with her mother, Elaine Ng. The entire controversy was one fans could not forget and neither could his daughter, who time and again mentioned how she wanted nothing to do with him.
Jackie Chan’s Estranged Daughter Was Homeless
Jackie Chan once had an affair with Elaine Ng despite being married to Joan Lin. The outcome of that affair was not something the actor had expected. Etta Ng was born as a result of infidelity and claimed to want nothing from her biological father. However, things did not look very good for her when she released a video on YouTube regarding her living situation.
“We’ve been homeless for a month due to homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge, and other things. We’ve gone to the police, we’ve gone to the hospitals, the food banks, the LGBTQ community shelters and all of them just don’t give a s***.”
His daughter claimed to be homeless with her then-girlfriend and now wife, Andi Autumn. The two had been living under bridges for months despite having a rich and famous father. The couple stated that the reason for their poverty-induced living situation was their homophobic parents. Her mother’s lack of acceptance of her daughter’s sexuality led to her becoming homeless for quite a while. The video was made as a call for help. However, Elaine Ng remarked it was a way to grab the attention of her famous bloodline.
Etta Ng Wants Nothing To Do With Jackie Chan
Etta Ng has stated on multiple occasions as to how she does not see Jackie Chan as her father but as an actor only. She has no ties to him and even continued by stating that she wants nothing to do with him.
“He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father.”
Chan’s daughter even added as to how people’s perception of her means nothing as long as her foundational thoughts are concrete. Etta Ng’s mother was not very fond of the idea as to how she was focusing on her paternal lineage more. Their relationship also faltered for quite some time.
“I feel that if they have no money, they should go find work. They shouldn’t film a clip telling others they are broke and who Etta’s father is. People all over the world work hard and don’t rely on someone else’s fame to get money.”
Etta Ng’s mother even stated that she should have looked for a job rather than making videos on social media sites. She is now married to her long-time girlfriend, Andi Autumn.
