In an interview, Stallone talked about her married life with Brigitte Nielsen. Since it is a very old interview, the actor and Nielsen had been married for only six months during the time of that interview and Stallone seemed quite hopeful for the future. Comparing himself to his on-screen character of Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone stated that it would have been good if he had that simple life ideology of Rocky Balboa.

“I wish I were more like Rocky. I wish I had the simplification of his life. He really seems dialed into the right zone. He`s got his wife and his kid and loyal friends, and he doesn`t want for anything. He`s unswayable. Me, I`m one of those people plagued by having too many choices. I`m like a guy who has been given a menu with too many dishes. I`ve been married before; I just got married again [with Brigitte Nielsen]”

The actor further continued,

“I hope to settle down, and have some more children. And I`d like to get rid of some of the anger that`s inside of me. This marriage seems to be helping that.”

Although the marriage did not last long, fans were reminded of the iconic feud between Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Brigitte Nielsen, who Stallone married in 1985, was an ex-girlfriend of his arch-rival Arnold Schwarzenegger!

In her 2011 autobiography, Brigitte Neilsen talked about the 1985 film titled Red Sonja. Starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie, the two had an affair before the Predator actor went on to marry Maria Shiver in 1986.

1985 was also a special year since that very same year, Brigitte Neilsen broke her relationship with Arnold Schwarzenegger and went on to marry Sylvester Stallone in 1985. The marriage between Stallone and Neilsen surprisingly lasted only two years as the actor would later marry Jennifer Flavin in 1997.
