While Sylvester Stallone has been one of the biggest names in Hollywood since the ’70s, that does not mean the actor doesn’t have his fair share of regrets. From headlining classics such as Rocky to starring in abominations like Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, Stallone has done it all. The actor memorably deemed the latter the worst film in the solar system. Hence, it will be fair to say that he has seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

But it isn’t his decision to star in numerous awful flicks or even agreeing to a PG rating for The Expendables 3 that bugs him the most. His biggest regret remains not giving time to his family.

The Family Stallone Has Helped Sylvester Stallone Right His Biggest Wrong

Stallone was one of the biggest draws in Hollywood during his heyday. He had numerous huge IPs under his belt and, for a huge chunk of his life, solely prioritized his career over his personal life. But in recent years, the actor has parted ways with most of his major franchises, resorting to more intimate projects, most notably The Kardashians-inspired show, The Family Stallone. Per the Rocky Star, the reality show was a way to reconnect with his wife and daughters, as he regrets not spending much time with his family. He told THR:

“Everyone goes, ‘I wish I’d shown love more’ or ‘I wish I’d spent more time with the kids.’ I’m riding that boat. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to do the reality show that I’ve been taking a lot of shit for.”

While Stallone is still very much active in Hollywood, the reality show has undoubtedly been a great addition to his life, which, at least to some extent, has helped him combat his biggest regret.

Sylvester Stallone Once Felt Worthless as a Father

Even though The Expendables Star regretted prioritizing his craft over his family, this isn’t to say things were all sunshine and roses when Sylvester Stallone was not busy working on movies. Reflecting on one of his lowest points in life, the actor recounted feeling ashamed in front of his daughters when he wasn’t landing any work in the early 2000s, assuming his career was done for.

“I was embarrassed to be your father. I felt so worthless. You didn’t even really know what I did for a living… When the good times go away, that’s when you find out your family is so important,” he told his daughters. “The ship sailed on me, it was pretty bad. And I realized that people you thought were your friends are not your friends… I thought I was definitely done. The phone wasn’t ringing.”
