Avengers: Endgame made us witness some of the saddest goodbyes as it was finally the end of a Saga. The experience was undoubtedly very impactful and will forever be etched in our minds. It makes it more obvious that no matter how much roar it generates in the theaters, any return improperly can badly hamper the character’s story.

Will Chris Evans make his return to the MCU?

The last time we spotted Chris Evans‘ Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the MCU, he grew old and passed his shield and the mantle to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Along with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, it was the last time we saw Steve Rogers in the MCU. Since then, the question of his return has been repeatedly placed before the actor.

Recently, when Chris Evans sat with GQ for a conversation, he admitted that playing Steve Rogers was one of the best experiences of his life and he is extremely proud of it. He assured his fans that he won’t return to the MCU if it simply turns out to be a cash grab or below his expectations.

“I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience. But I’m also very precious with it. It’s something that I am very proud of. And like I said, sometimes I can’t believe it even happened. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing. So, no time soon.”

The 42-year-old actor needs to think about everything before making any surprise return. It is extremely important for both him as well as the character who has created an unforgettable image in everyone’s minds. On the other hand, it is also to be noted that any possible return is also considerably far away as Anthony Mackie is all set to get his first outing with the Vibranium Shield in Captain America: Brave New World.

The concept of variants and multiverse can play a huge role in making his return in Avengers: Secret Wars. But none of the other upcoming movies in the MCU show is likely to feature him in a pivotal role besides flashback sequences or references.

Although the fandom often engages in fan theories regarding Captain America’s return, it is worth noting that Chris Evans is very exhausted from his career and wants to focus on some other things as well. In the same interview with GQ, he added that despite not being able to achieve much, he wants to act a little less and focus on some other interests.

“And ultimately I really hope to just maybe act a little bit less in my life. I have a lot of other interests. Look, by no means have I climbed any sort of a mountain in this field. I have no Oscars and I’m not lumped with other names that are at the top of the mountain in any way. But I also feel very satisfied.”

According to the Snowpiercer actor, he tries to do a lot of things in his entire day and every time it is not essentially focused on acting. Sometimes Evans even considers reading scripts to be the last thing to do. It looks like the actor wants to slow himself down and focus on some other activities other than acting.
