Paramount announced a reboot of the famous Scary Movie franchise and Anna Faris may become a part of it if her two conditions are fulfilled. One, of course, is good money and the second is the participation of her co-star Regina Hall. Faris and Hall portrayed Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks in the first four films in the franchise.

Faris revealed in a recent interview that she loved working with Hall and would love to reprise the role if Brenda Meeks would also return. Fans are rooting for the pair as well since it was these two recurring actresses who played a huge part in these films becoming a near-$900 million success.

Anna Faris is currently promoting her new Prime Video film, My Spy, The Eternal City. During an interview with PEOPLE, she was asked whether she would return to the Scary Movie franchise and under what conditions. The question has significant relevance as Paramount has announced a reboot project in the works in April.

Faris immediately replied that money would be a huge factor in her decision. However, there was another crucial factor that would make her want to reprise her character badly. She revealed that she would love to work with Regina Hall again. She shared that both of them would make each other laugh on set all day long. Faris shared with PEOPLE:

I would love to work with Regina again. I just love her so much. We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!

Fans also love this to happen as they positively responded to the House Bunny actress’s conditions. When the news was shared on X, one fan commented that they would watch the film solely for this combo of Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. Another fan shared that they badly needed the duo to appear in the new reboot.

One fan further went ahead and stated that they needed a reboot from Paramount only if Faris and Hall agreed to appear in them. Another fan called the two actresses “Queens” who made the films into a great success. Some of the fan reactions read:

Interestingly, it is not just Faris who has expressed her willingness to appear in the new Scary Movie reboot. Hall also earlier shared that she would love to revisit these characters. In an interview with ET, Hall shared, “I would love to see where they are now. I don’t think it’s any place amazing, but I think it’d be fun to see.” There is a good chance that Paramount’s film will feature these actresses.

The Scary Movie franchise consisted of a bunch of parody films developed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and brothers Shawn and Marlon Wayans. Anna Faris and Regina Hall appeared in all the films except the fifth one, where Ashley Tisdale and Simon Rex played the lead roles. The films spoofed the plot of several famous slasher films throughout the five films.

Scary Movie spoofed the plot of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, while also using scenes from several other films and TV shows. Scary Movie 2 spoofed The Exorcist and House on Haunted Hill, while Scary Movie 3 was a spoof of The Ring and Signs. The main target of spoof in the fourth installment was War of the Worlds, Saw, The Village, and The Grudge. The fifth film spoofed Mama, Paranormal Activity, and Black Swan.

The films combined made a total gross of $831 million at the box office (via The Numbers). Paramount Pictures announced a sixth untitled film in April 2024, with Neal H. Moritz attached as the producer. Paramount’s subsidiary Miramax will finance the production, which is expected to begin by late 2024. The film will probably hit theaters in 2025.

The first three films are now available for streaming on Max, while Scary Movie 4 and 5 are available on Roku.
